Awareness and Distribution of Hygienic Kits

In context of the RI Month of Maternity and Child Health, the Rotaract Club of Mahebourg held an awareness session and distributed Hygienic kits to the community of Le Bouchon on Saturday 21st April 2018. 

The club invited Dr (Mrs) Rambhujun to talk to the elder women and young girls about the causes of possible illnesses in an improperly maintained environment for their health and that of their children as well. Dr Rambhujun emphasized on the use of clean potable water and good keep of clean water safe from contamination.  Some other pointers by the Doctor for keep a clean and safe environment are:

  • Avoid waste and potable water contaminations

  • Make adequate use of soap prior preparing food and manipulating baby and infant

  • Keep prepared or cooked food separated from raw

  • Keep mind on the ambient temperature when storing food, and make sure to allow proper cooking time and temperature  

  • Avoid petting of animal when preparing food

Later the afternoon, after the talk and question-and-answers sessions, the members of club proceeded to distribute the Hygienic Kits to the people and in the community, along with some lunch and refreshment.
