First session of Learning Zone of the RI year 2017-2018 by the Rotaract Club of Mahebourg!

Since the children are currently in holidays, we have shifted from traditional writing sessions to a more creative approach in order to make our visits more fun.

On Saturday, we had a paper vitrail session, board games, team building.

The children learned about DIY paper vitrail and about the importance of working together as a team

The different games allowed the children to have a break from routine and it also helped to develop their creative thinking skills

We also had the courtesy visit of the President Kormathi Munisami of the Rotaract Club of Rose-Belle who gladly joined in and helped us in bringing a smile to the children

Thank you everyone for your trust and support

Learning Zone

One of Rotary’s six areas of focus is Basic education and literacy which are essential for reducing poverty, improving health, encouraging community and economic development, and promoting peace.

In line with this, the Rotaract Club of Mahebourg is working to set up a Learning Zone for children in need, aged 5 to 21 years old, in the region of Le Bouchon.  It is a continuous project consisting of creating or refining a learning center for under privileged children present in that region.  The aim of the project is to create interest in books for the children through reading sessions, paintings and creative plays and games. In doing so, they will remain at bay from problems such as drug or smoking.
